Here are Grano & Farina, we work with local produce, farmers, shops and support our Roman and Italian community at large.
One of the ways that we decided to give back is to donate 10% of all earnings from the 4 ROMAN PASTAS class to the community of Amatrice destroyed by an earthquake in 2016. Because this small town no longer exists but the inhabitants continue to live in the area, they need all the help they can get to rebuild and move forward. Their farms are the ones that provide our school with the guanciale necessary to make 3 out of the 4 pasta sauces associated with Rome: Amatriciana (named after this town), Gricia & Carbonara.
Our 2018/2019 choice was the Casa delle Donne di Amatrice & Frazioni. By clicking on their logo below you can read more to understand what they are doing to sustain their community.
We are continuing this initiative again this year and are researching other Amatrice organizations or farms to support in the future. We will update here as news becomes available.
